Heya guys! I think layering in outfits is really important- you can see in my doll's outfit in my banner the way I've layered a mini top with a belt and jeans, and then a jacket over the top. I really feel that dolls look great when you layer up clothes, and especially when you use high-waited skirts or jeans, so I thought I'd give your guys a few outfit ideas!
-First of all, you're going to need a cropped-style top, so I've chosen a fairly basic, but gorgeous top that featured in one of my last posts! Yup, I've gone for the Soft White Top from Pretty n' Love:
I seriously love this top- and if you saw the post I made about it, you'll know there was a very similar top in pink, which you can buy more cheaply and in starcoins too. You can have any type of cropped top you like: colourful, plain- I have at least four in my wardrobe, so make sure you have at least one so you can layer up! But the thing about these cropped tops is that they quite often need something high-waisted to finish off the look! This is what this post's about- I'll give you two examples of outfits- keeping the cropped top the same, and the accessories: but I'll show you two completely different types of bottom-halves! Let's go!

High-waisted shorts or jeans are just perfect for outfits like this. I think that denim goes really well with white, but it also works with bolder colours, so try a range. A belt is good for covering the edges between the clothes- a wide belt is usually best, but if you've found a thin belt you like, as long as it covers the meeting of the layers, then it's fine: experiment!
Below is a slightly different way to work the high-waisted look, with the same accessories and t-shirt.
Instead, with a skirt this time, the look is completely changed- with skirts and layering with belts and tops, you can sometimes create looks that are similar to dresses- this can be done with very similarly coloured clothes, or even with completely different pieces, if you layer it well and hide the meeting between the clothing pieces- as then it will look just like one piece- a dress. It just depends what kind of look you want to go for. Of course what I didn't really cover with these outfits was the jewellery, or maybe jackets or cardis- experiment around a bit. Here's what you'll need for both outfits- just don't get what you don't want, obviously:
So, what do you think? Feel free to let me know in the comments!
